For me, it really isn’t much work to call a handyman. My parents managed their own properties for decades and I learned from them to operate more efficiently. Again, you have to factor all maintenance costs. The pass-through deduction does have limits, but anything below those limits can be deducted. Having primary and umbrella insurance is critical. I am a true believer in equities, I’ve been investing in index funds, mutual funds, stocks, bonds etc since I graduated. I never imagined that real estate would outpace those investment vehicles.
